Today, I'd love to share with you a quirky story that unfolded when I received a rubber duck recently.

I can already hear you thinking: "What's the big deal about a rubber duck?"

Well, this one was different. It arrived without any special attire or accessories, unlike the previous ducks I'd received in the past (because yes, every year (except one) I attended LYM Live every participant received a random duck!).

At first, I was a little disappointed seeing that other participants received way more flashy ones than mine...

But then it hit me!

This seemingly ordinary duck was trying to deliver a powerful message. It embodied the core message Marisa Murgatroyd delivers during her annual weekends.

And it took me 5 years to understand 😆

You certainly have heard of the saying, "having all your ducks in a row." This expression originates from the idea of aligning everything perfectly before taking action.

In our low-content world, it makes us feel like we should hold off on launching something (new) until we have everything just right.

But is that really the best advice?

Let me share a different perspective with you. Instead of waiting until you have all your ducks in a row, what if you started with just one duck?

It's much better (and way less overwhelming!) to focus on one thing at a time and keep it simple until you nail it.

Then, only then, you might consider adding another duck.

You don't need to be on every social platform at first.

You don't have to know everything from the start.

You don't even have to have all the tech and tools set up before you begin.

Because before you know it, you'll have a million ducks staring at us!

Here's the truth: while it's wise not to put all our eggs in one basket, having too many baskets from the start won't guarantee we'll succeed any faster.

In fact, we'll just feel exhausted trying to look after all our baskets.

How about we make a commitment together to show up consistently, focus on one thing at a time, and do the work we know we should?

No more chasing new ducks and trying to make sense of them.

Pick one. Just one.

And go all in!

It's by taking action that you'll move forward, see results, and get out of the quicksand.

And even better if you fail, as long as you keep getting up, because it will help you move forward even faster!

Take that first/next step, create that first/next design, or launch that first/next product. As long as you stop switching from one thing to another, I assure you that the right ducks will fall into the right place as you go along.
