🎨 When “I need this” fades

Hello and Welcome to the Creative Playground, Reader!

Pull up a chair, grab a coffee, and let's see what becomes possible when we revisit, remix, and reimagine what's already right in front of us.

Because sometimes the next opportunity isn't something new. It's seeing what you already have differently.

Looking for a previous issue? They are all available to read on my website.

Over the weekend, I was cleaning my inbox (again!) and deciding who still gets a place there.

Naturally, that led to some inbox archaeology. 😄

After a collaboration event I had joined a few months ago, I had signed up for several resources created by its partners.

Each one came with its own little arrival moment:

“Here’s what you requested.”

A welcome email.
Access details.
A confirmation.
Sometimes even an invoice confirming my very official $0 purchase.

And the funny thing is: I had a good reason for signing up for every single one!

Each had felt like a must-have for something I was working through at that moment.

Yet, a few days or weeks later, most had quietly made their way onto my imaginary high shelf:

“I want to come back to this properly when I have time.”

Then I thought about a different assessment I completed the day it arrived.

It also had limited access.

It was not necessarily more urgent, more exciting, or better designed.

It simply found me when I was ready for the next step it offered.

That feels like an important distinction.

As customers, we do not always ignore something because it was not useful.

Sometimes the question that made us say, “I need this,” simply fades before we have used the answer.

And as creators, that is worth remembering.

We cannot control exactly when someone will need what we offer.

We definitely cannot make them need it by sending more “last chance!” emails.

But we can make our work easier to remember and return to when that question comes back.

Not just another resource somebody once collected.

A familiar place to look when they need that particular kind of help.

Today’s tiny Playground thought:

What made your customer say “I need this” in the first place? And what might help them remember you when that moment returns?

See you again in the Playground next week!

P.S. My inbox is a little tidier now. My curiosity, however, has made absolutely no such promise. 😄

NOTE: I'm moving things around in the backend to make room for a new project. Can you help me spot "bad experiences" regarding my site, your members' area, communications, or whatever? I would really appreciate your help with this! It will make it so much easier for me to fix and improve everything that needs attention. Thank you!

Disclosure: From time to time, I will include links in the emails that would include promotions for my own products or affiliate products, meaning I get paid when you buy the product. However, I only ever mention products I love and would recommend whether I was being compensated or not. Always use due diligence when buying anything and remember, what works for me may not always work for you!

Thank you so much for your support of Stephie The Happy Mom!

I make printables and editable templates that refuse to sit quietly in a downloads folder. You can use them yourself… or rebrand and sell them as your own. Some spark creativity at home and create little screen-free moments. Others help creators turn simple ideas into products they can actually share with the world. And these days, I also help thoughtful creators spot the hidden friction between effort and results — because sometimes a small shift is all it takes to get things moving again!
