[🎨] Your lead magnet is an experience

Hello and welcome to my printables and low-content creation series, Reader 👋

Looking for a previous issue? They are all available to read on my website.

Quick pulse check before we dive in.

This newsletter is about improving (and creating) printables so they’re easier to understand, easier to use, and easier to say yes to.

A lead magnet counts.

Because for many people, it’s the very first experience they have with our work.

And first experiences shape everything that follows.

Creating a new entry point into my world was on my mind for some time.

Not because someone told me to create a new lead magnet.

But because I need one.

Something clear on my homepage.
Something relevant when I introduce myself in groups.
Something that reflects what I actually help people with now.

And when I looked at what I currently have, I realized something simple:

It doesn’t fully match where I’m going.

That’s usually the real issue with lead magnets.
Not that they don’t exist.
But that they no longer fit.

Quick poll...

Click the one that fits you best.

I’m genuinely curious.

What makes a strong lead magnet

For me, the question isn’t:

“How do I get more leads?”

It’s:

“What is the experience someone has when they enter my world?”

Is it:

  • Clear?
  • Focused?
  • Immediately useful?
  • Aligned with what I actually want to be known for?

If the answer feels blurry to you, imagine how it lands for someone seeing your work for the first time!

🤦‍♀️ That’s where I’m at.

A timely nudge

Marisa Murgatroyd is running her free Amazing Lead Magnet Challenge this week, and I’ve decided to use it as my container to build my new one.

I’ve been part of her community for years and I’m entering my fifth year learning inside her programs.

I’m not earning commission on this. I’m sharing it because it’s a structured way to move instead of overthinking.

If you’ve been circling your own lead magnet, this might be a useful moment to act.

You can check it out here:

It ends this Sunday.

There is an invitation to her annual live event inside the experience. I’ve attended for years and found it valuable, though I’m skipping this year because of timing (spring break) and family priorities (son's bday). If you’re considering it and want an honest take, you can always reply and ask.

I’m starting mine this afternoon.

Not as a side project.
But as a front door that actually reflects what I do now.

If you’re building or refining yours too, hit reply and tell me what you’re working on.
I’d love to see it!
I may even highlight a few in an upcoming issue.

PS: A lead magnet isn’t just a freebie. It’s a promise. Make sure it matches the work you actually want to be paid for.

NOTE: I'm moving things around in the backend to make room for a new project. Can you help me spot "bad experiences" regarding my site, your members' area, communications, or whatever? I would really appreciate your help with this! It will make it so much easier for me to fix and improve everything that needs attention. Thank you!

Disclosure: From time to time, I will include links in the emails that would include promotions for my own products or affiliate products, meaning I get paid when you buy the product. However, I only ever mention products I love and would recommend whether I was being compensated or not. Always use due diligence when buying anything and remember, what works for me may not always work for you!

Thank you so much for your support of Stephie The Happy Mom!

I make printables and editable templates that refuse to sit quietly in a downloads folder. You can use them yourself… or rebrand and sell them as your own. Some spark creativity at home and create little screen-free moments. Others help creators turn simple ideas into products they can actually share with the world. And these days, I also help thoughtful creators spot the hidden friction between effort and results — because sometimes a small shift is all it takes to get things moving again!
